ANTHROPOLOGY

The skull appears throughout human art and material culture as a reminder of mortality, ancestry, memory, and the physical reality shared by every person regardless of social position.

CULTURE

Power is often measured through possessions, influence, or status. The skull complicates that definition by introducing time. Eventually titles disappear and possessions change hands, leaving the question of what a person actually did with the power they possessed.

JEWELRY

Hematite gives the bracelet a polished metallic luster and substantial visual weight. A Cubic Zirconia-encrusted skull creates an ornate focal against the industrial character of the stone.
