Curatorial Summary
The Stone Hoop is a collection of five separate hoop earrings, each featuring a different natural stone wire-wrapped into a stainless steel plate. With approximately 4 mm stone accents, the design balances the clean circular form of the hoop with the individual color and pattern of each mineral. Available selections include Obsidian, Aventurine, Unakite, Picture Jasper, and Indian Agate, allowing each pair to carry its own visual character.
Lithic AnalysisSpecimens: Obsidian, Aventurine, Unakite, Picture Jasper, and Indian Agate.
Composition: Hoop earrings featuring approximately 4 mm natural stone accents wire-wrapped into a stainless steel plate. Each stone is naturally formed, so variations in color, pattern, translucency, and surface character make every pair unique. The stainless steel components provide a clean, durable contrast to the organic appearance of the stones.
LogicObsidian contributes a deep black register traditionally associated with depth, reflection, and composed restraint.
Aventurine introduces a natural green register traditionally associated with renewal, balance, and possibility.
Unakite combines green and pink tones, creating a layered visual register associated with growth, connection, and contrast.
Picture Jasper contributes earthy landscape-like patterning traditionally associated with place, memory, and the visual language of the natural world.
Indian Agate adds varied bands and warm-to-cool color shifts, creating a register of continuity, movement, and natural variation.
Together, the five selections create a small mineral collection in hoop form—structured by stainless steel, but distinguished by the color and pattern of each stone.
Archivist’s Field NotesThe Stone Hoop is designed for the wearer who prefers a classic silhouette with a material point of distinction. Choose Obsidian for a darker, understated finish; Aventurine or Unakite for natural color; Picture Jasper for earthy pattern; or Indian Agate for layered variation. Each pair is a compact study in the relationship between metal form and natural stone.
