Curatorial Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: April 4, 2026
Welcome to Gemthropology. These Curatorial Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to the Site and the acquisition of our educational resources and artisan artifacts. By entering the Archives or purchasing an artifact, you agree to these terms.
1. Educational Content & Proprietary Research
We provide a unique interdisciplinary approach—combining scientific gemology with anthropological curiosity.
-
The Archives: Access to our "Restricted Archive," "The Velvet Orbit," "Lithic Lineage," "Folklore Archive," and "Mineral Memoirs" is a privilege. All research, identification guides, and valuation methodologies are the exclusive intellectual property of Gemthropology.
-
Limited License: You are granted a license to use these materials for personal or professional development. You may not reproduce or commercially exploit our proprietary descriptions or research without express written consent.
2. Acquisition of Artifacts (Sales)
-
Artisan Nature: Our products—including stone bracelets and clay earrings—are "Artifacts" handcrafted or curated with intention.
-
Authenticity: We strive for expert accuracy in identifying stones. However, as these are natural specimens and handmade items, all descriptions are expert estimates and may feature minor variations in color, texture, and form.
-
Right of Refusal: We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion.
3. Preservation & Care (Returns & Exchanges)
As Gemthropology products are artisan-crafted, we do not offer cash refunds.
Exchange Window:
-
If an Artifact arrives not to your liking,, you must initiate a return within three (3) days of receipt.
-
Store Credit: Upon safe return of the item in its original condition, you will be eligible for an exchange or store credit. Please visit The Inquiry Desk to begin this process.
4. Health & Safety Disclosure
Skin Sensitivities: While we prioritize high-quality, nickel-free metals (like stainless steel and copper), Gemthropology is not liable for any skin irritations or allergic reactions. By wearing our artifacts, you assume all risks associated with metal sensitivities, finishes, or adhesives.
5. The Loyalty Program & Access
Access to the Restricted Archive and our Loyalty Program requires account registration. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that engage in unauthorized distribution of our proprietary educational content or violate the spirit of the Gemthropology community.
6. Limitation of Liability
Gemthropology provides expert knowledge for educational purposes. Any valuations or identifications provided are not legal appraisals unless explicitly stated in a separate, signed contract. We are not liable for losses resulting from the use of information on this site.
